An 8-inch oil only absorbent boom is a heavy-duty, hydrophobic spill-containment product engineered specifically to float on water while absorbing petroleum-based liquids such as oils, fuels, diesel, and lubricants without taking on water. Designed for large-scale industrial and marine spill response, these booms serve as a critical first line of defense for containing and recovering oil in demanding environments where water is present.

Each boom is 8 inches in diameter and 10 feet in lenght, constructed with a highly absorbent polypropylene filler encased in a durable, tough outer mesh net. This construction provides excellent strength, flexibility, and resistance to tearing, allowing the boom to maintain its shape and performance even when fully saturated. Engineered for high absorption capacity, an 8" x 10' boom can absorb approximately 10 to 14 gallons or more of hydrocarbons, while remaining buoyant on the water’s surface.

The hydrophobic design ensures that the boom repels water and selectively absorbs oil, making it highly effective during rain events, tidal conditions, or active marine operations. Each boom is equipped with corrosion-resistant steel connectors and internal rope reinforcement, allowing multiple units to be securely linked together to form continuous containment barriers around spills, vessels, docks, machinery, or sensitive shoreline areas. The bright white color provides high visibility and allows users to easily monitor saturation levels for timely replacement.
